Must See
There are so many places in Larissa that you must visit. However there is no way to do it all in one day. It's not that the Larissa prefecture is so large in terms of area. but it's just that it is so rich in places that must be seen and visited. Larissa is like a small area of land that offers a taste of everything that makes Greece famous. From the beaches that remind one of the Greek Islands, to the ancient ruins that remind one of Athens, to Mount Olympus which can't even be compared.
Tempi Valley
The Tempi Valley is the Narrow place between Mt. Olympos and Mnt Kissavos (also known as Mt Ossa). OK, regardless of what the mountains are called, Tempi Valley (pronounced Tembi, sounds like ten bee but with an M instead of an N) is one of the most beautiful places in Greece. It is also very unique. The drive is amazing. Full of beauty and the most beautiful nature you will ever see. Unfortunately, there are very few places to park your car so you can get out and enjoy this natural beauty.
The most popular place to stop is "The Tempi Valley Rest Area", And you can't miss it. You will recognize it right away, it is always full of cars and tourists. There is a suspension bridge there that will take you to the other side of the river. There you will find a church and a cave, I have never been inside the cave but I have been told that it's a narrow passage that keeps getting more narrow as you go deeper. At the end of the cave is a natural spring that empties into a little pond. Locals say that the water in this spring is blessed and will cure ailments.
While at the rest area, you can also take a boat tour on the Pinios River.
Mt. Olympos
(Mt. Olympus)

Mt. Olympos (Spelling is based on the Greek pronunciation) is the highest mountain in Greece, at 2,919 meters (9,570 feet) and one of the highest, in real absolute altitude from base to top, of Europe since its base is located at sea level. This is one of the most beautiful places in the country. Visiting Mount Olympos is a special treat for everyone. To see Mnt Olympos you must go through the town of Litochoro. Every expedition to the top starts in this town because it's the highest point on the mountain that you can reach with your car. It is also the last place where you can find a hotel on your way to the peak.
Agiokampos Beach
Agiokampos Beach is one of the best places to visit. Not only because it's a fantastic beach, but also because it is the starting point on one of the most beautiful drives in Greece. When you arrive at Agiokampo Beach from Larissa city, you can either stay on the beach and enjoy the water, or you can turn left and start on a drive that will take you to any type of beach you want. You will pass sandy beaches, rocky beaches, cliff beaches shady beaches. Looking for sun? shade? It's all here. This is a nature drive that can't be missed. Agiokampos Beach is also home of a waterslide. I have never been on the slide, But I see it as I drive by on my way to the beach. The reason I have never been on the slide is because the beach is so attractive that the waterslide is not even a mild temptation.
